Reset
Photo exhibition
13/05 – 04/06/2021
@ De Markten, Brussels
The 'Reset' photographic exhibition brings together the photographs and film of 18 MAPS members, exploring the transformations that are emerging from the turmoil our modern societies face. 45 photographs and a short film by MAPS members, accompanied by 6 multimedia productions by students of the Ecole Nationale des Arts de la Cambre, create a dialogue to address central issues of our time: the conditions of women and democratic crises, as well as the solace found in communities and the resetting of our relationship with the living.
Our modern societies have been built on the subjugation of a large part of ourselves, and the environment. Male domination, exploitation of workers, destruction of ecosystems...
We at MAPS are part of the growing part of the world population convinced that domination can no longer be the most efficient modus operandi.
This seemingly unchanging order is beginning to crack. Major crises are shaking our world with great noise. Others, on the contrary, are manifesting themselves in a tenuous, discrete way, and suggest a future blooming. All seem to indicate that there are strong aspirations that could overturn the paradigms of omnipotence. And bring about profound change.
